Standup

So I recently met my celebrity crush Joel Mchale (first picture), when he performed standup here in Dallas in August. I think he is so funny and adorable. I never thought in a million years I would have been able to meet him, so I just feel like it was all a dream! Joel is the tv host of The Soup on E! I subscribe to it on itunes so I can watch it everynight before I go to bed on my ipod classic...yes I know thats a bit psychotic. It's the only show out there that consistently makes me laugh. My sister and I got really great seats to his show and he was just as funny in person. It was interesting to here the behind-the-scenes gossip with The Soup and all the people they piss off. I could have watched him all night.

Joel was my second standup comedian I've seen in the recent months. I saw Ralphie May at the Improv in Addison in July (second picture). He was runner up in the first season Last Comic Standing. Ralphie was laugh my ass off hilarious. My family loves his stand up on tv, and in person, he is even funnier. We saw the last show of the night and he stayed out an extra hour and 20 mins on top of the hour he already spent on stage. He's rather vulgar and a man's man, but we got to meet him and he's just the nicest, sweetest, teddy bear of a guy. I was walking by, not realizing he was next to me and he reached out and hugged me and said, "Hey Sugar" in this sweet voice like he knew me for years. We tried with my camera phone getting a pic of him and I together, but my dad moved the camera before it took it and it blurred, so I had to take a pic with just him signing autographs.

I really love standup. I'm so picky about comics because I don't like ones that try too hard. I would love to see Jeff Dunham, Margaret Cho, Ellen Degeneres, or Kathy Griffin. Kathy came in town the same night Ralphie was in town. I'm sooo sad I missed that. I've become good friends with Jeff Dunham's niece, so it would be nice to meet him one day, or at least see one of his shows. Hopefully he comes back in town soon.
